Fresh Waste Treatment Plant – MechWaste Private Limited

Overview

The MechWaste Fresh Waste Treatment Plant is a state-of-the-art mechanical waste processing solution designed to handle fresh municipal solid waste (MSW) directly from households, commercial establishments, or collection centers. The system ensures maximum material recovery, energy efficiency, and minimal environmental impact, supporting sustainable urban waste management.

Fresh waste treatment involves processing unaged, high-moisture, organic-rich waste, which is highly biodegradable and requires controlled handling to reduce odor, leachate, and pathogen contamination while recovering recyclable and combustible fractions.

Working Principle

The Fresh Waste Treatment Plant combines mechanical sorting, size reduction, and separation technologies to efficiently segregate fresh waste into various fractions:

  1. Pre-Sorting / Manual Segregation
    • Removal of oversized debris, bulky items, and hazardous materials.
  2. Shredding
    • Reduces the size of incoming waste using single or dual-shaft shredders for easy handling and downstream processing.
  3. Screening
    • Trommel or vibratory screens separate fine organic fractions from coarse materials like plastics, metals, and inert waste.
  4. Air-Based Separation
    • Air density separators / wind sifters separate light and heavy fractions:
      • Light fraction: plastics, paper, and textiles
      • Heavy fraction: stones, metals, and inert matter
  5. Magnetic & Eddy Current Separation
    • Recover ferrous and non-ferrous metals for recycling.
  6. Organic Fraction Processing
    • Organic waste can be stabilized, composted, or sent for anaerobic digestion depending on plant requirements.
  7. RDF / SRF Production (Optional)
    • Combustible fractions are converted into refuse-derived fuel (RDF) for energy recovery in cement kilns or waste-to-energy plants.

Key Features

  • High-efficiency mechanical separation with low energy consumption
  • Modular and scalable design for different plant capacities
  • Fully enclosed systems with dust and odor control
  • Easy integration with biological stabilization or anaerobic digestion units
  • Durable, wear-resistant construction for long-term operation
  • Automated control systems with PLCs and VFDs for optimized performance
